UniekArticle: Graceful George - You sinned? You're cursed?

http://www.unikempire.com.ng

Let's handle it!
When you truly surrender to Jesus, you don't want to continue in sin! That doesn't mean you may not be faced with temptations, that doesn't even mean you might not fall into temptations and sin... I mean very serious sin! It simply means you don't continue in sin... It means you hate sin as God hates it and when you find yourself in it, you jump out from it because you hate it!

When you jump out of it, don't live in guilt! If your sin caused damage to other people, confess to them and if they are believers, they are bound to forgive you! But never live in guilt that even restrains you from looking up to God! Let your trust in Christ be on the hilt even when you are guilty of something! The devil has no right over you... Not now, not ever!

Your fellow believers might have been able to overcome the same temptations you couldn't overcome! When they come to condemn you rather than correct you, avoid them! Don't let them keep reminding you of what God has forgiven you of! The devil can hold on to that! John wrote

"My dear children, I write this letter to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone sins, we have Jesus Christ to help us. He always did what was right, so he is able to defend us before God the Father." - 1 Jn. 2:1 ERV

Someone going through this admonition might say we are encouraging sin or that we are treating it with glove hands but "no!"... We are actually showing people way out of the devil's weapon! The devil's weapon against a believer is not even sinful acts but the guilt of those sins! And a believer who capitalises on this teaching to say that he or she will continue sinning, then such a person is not truly a believer in Christ... He or she is not yet saved! Not because God doesn't want to save them but because they've not truly surrendered to Jesus! They have not truly received God's salvation. Anyone who comes to Christ in truth doesn't want to continue in sin... When they sin, they come out of it immediately in repentance.

Even as a Pastor, that you made some mistakes doesn't annul God's anointing on you! It doesn't mean you should pack up because you sinned! All the servants of God came to a point they all fell into temptations but they didn't remain in sin... They did not quit! They came out stronger! Even in the Old Testament David still found mercy when he breaks the law... Abraham lied and yet blessings came to him instead of curse! John wrote further

"Jesus is the way our sins are taken away. And he is the way all people can have their sins taken away too." - 1 Jn. 2:2 ERV

Jesus is the only way our sins are taken away! Many Christians get into days of mourning, fasting, praying and begging God for mercy when they do something wrong! They allow the devil to steal their joy because of their mistakes and sometimes they even gradually stop trusting God completely. I have come to tell you that Jesus loves you much more... God is not pleased with your sins but He is pleased with your absolute trust in Him!

Break free from the shackles of the enemy! The devil is not fighting you from the village.... He is fighting you in your mind! Some of these guilts are sponsored by some teachings that holds no water! Such that when you commit certain sin you become cursed! Many believers are afraid and perhaps they begin to give credit to their sins when they meet a misfortune! Oh no! The Bible says otherwise, hear it

"The law says we are under a curse for not always obeying it. But Christ took away that curse. He changed places with us and put himself under that curse. The Scriptures say, “Anyone who is hung on a tree is under a curse.” - Gal. 3:13 ERV

We have been redeemed from all curses resulting from not obeying the law! We were never under the law in the first place because the law was given to the Jews. All gentiles were already without God and therefore had no blessings of God. I would say we were all condemned automatically but not anymore! Not because of our faithfulness but because of God's faithfulness. Christ became us and we became Christ so that every curse should be placed on Him and every blessing placed on us! Sin is terrible... That is why we were saved from it and its power!

You have been redeemed! Live above guilts! Live in total freedom! Enjoy your life in Christ!

God bless you!
